Sometimes in the water, you may need to clear your snorkel. One strong breath is all it takes. Some snorkel models feature a purge valve this device makes it noticeably easy to clear the tube. If for some reason you are unable to use this technique simply raise your face out of the water take the mouthpiece out of your mouth and reposition it correctly. Some snorkel models feature a special device that prevents the tube from flooding with water even if you dive below the surface making it all even easier.

Sometimes water can get inside the mask and can even cause an unpleasant visual sensation. No need to worry – Clearing water from your mask is easy: simply lift your head out of the water and move the lower edge of the mask slightly to drain it. The most common reason for water to enter is trapped hair that makes the mask seal less effective Remember to move your hair completely out of the way of the mask. In the water, check the correct position of your snorkel tube. It should be a vertical as possible if it is too far forward or too far back the opening will be too close to the surface.
