Great. Now you are in the water and you want to move around. The best way is to kick slowly keeping your fins underwater without splashing. If you slap your fins against the water – in addition to frightening the fish you are also wasting energy because it doesn’t help move you around. Dog paddle and bicycling movement are also pointless and tiring.

When fining, your arms are generally not of much use and can even become obstacles it’s better to let your forward thrust to come exclusively from the force of your fins. You can hold your arms straight along your sides or point them forward.

The important thing is to create the least possible friction to forward movement. The only time you use your arms is when you want to move quickly over a short distance.
